The Union Ministry of Urban Development in a recently held meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) on JnNURM has approved the proposal for release of 2nd installment of Rs. 7128 lakhs for the project of laying interceptor sewers along the 3 major drains for abatement of pollution in the Yamuna River in Delhi. The approved cost of the project is Rs. 135771.00 lakhs with a total central share of Rs. 47520.00 lakhs.

The physical progress of the project is about 55 percent with delay in the project being caused by delay in getting permissions from the Department of Forests and the Railways Authorities and also in acquisition and handing over of land by the DDA. The project is likely to be completed by March, 2014.
