Aadhaar cards must for PMAY projects in Pune

    Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has lined up nearly 30,000 beneficiaries for 15 public private partnership (PPP)-model schemes in areas under its jurisdiction.

With a detailed project report (DPR) being readied for the projects, the PMRDA officials said they have made Aadhaar cards compulsory for the beneficiaries who have not enrolled for the scheme elsewhere in the country.

The PMAY scheme is meant for those from the economic weaker section and the officials have appointed an agency to verify the beneficiaries’ details. “At present, we have 15 developers and they would construct 28,000 houses. and 14,000 would be for EWS and these constructions are spread out in Bhor, Haveli and Khed talukas in the district. The largest number of proposals in the state is from Pune district. We are sure we will cross 50,000 houses in the next six months,’’ PMRDA additional commissioner Pravin Deore said. Any person can apply online to avail of the scheme and the criteria is that he or she has to be an Indian citizen, earning 3 lakh per annum and should not have a house anywhere in the country.

PMRDA commissioner Kiran Gitte had earlier this year announced the PPP project with a suggestion of eight models.
