The Event Analysis
The flourishing construction machinery market in India is attracting a large number of exhibitors from all parts of the world to this year’s bauma CONEXPO INDIA, which will be held from December 11 to 14 at the HUDA Ground in Gurgaon/Delhi. Demand for booths at the fair has never been so high. Positive growth forecasts for the Indian construction machinery industry will turn the trade fair into a very important presentation platform for the industry.
Exhibitors are very satisfied with the number of registrations for this year’s construction machinery trade fair about three weeks before the fair’s opening: Compared to the last fair in 2016, 800 square meters of hall space have been added. Over 700 exhibitors from 25 countries will present their products. Only a few booths are still available. Visitors can expect to see the entire product range of construction equipment. “The trade fair will be completely booked this year for the first time. Compared to 2016 we have grown over 30 percent-this is a tremendous achievement for bauma CONEXPO INDIA,” said Bhupinder Singh, CEO of bC Expo India.
Positive market forecast triggers great demand
The tremendous reputation of the trade fair is attracting exhibitors from all parts of the world to Delhi. Many major players in the industry have expanded their booth space this year, including ACE, Case, Caterpillar, JCB, Kobelco, L&T, Liugong, PERI, Putzmeister, Sany, Schwing Stetter, Volvo, Wirtgen and Zoomlion. Terex, one of the industry’s giants, is also returning for the first time since 2014. DEUTZ Engines, Doka, Doosan Bobcat, Etrack Crushers (A Keestrack Group Company), Hyundai and Manitou Equipment are returning this year as well. The German company Kaeser Kompressoren SE and the Indian manufacturer Tata Hitachi are attending for the first time.
The huge number of exhibitors is directly related to the strong growth being generated by the Indian construction machinery market and the positive outlook for India’s construction industry. These growth forecasts are being fueled by capital expenditures being made by the Indian government in the expansion of the country’s infrastructure. India is to become the world’s third-largest market for the global construction industry by 2025. Analysts expect real annual growth to average 6.2 percent over the next nine years. The construction machinery market will also profit from the infrastructure expansion: Bulldozers, backhoes and excavators will generate huge gains in sales over the next five years. “The construction machinery industry has tremendous opportunities ahead of it, and bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2018 is the perfect place to see these trends up close,” Indian CEO Singh says.
bauma CONEXPO INDIA to introduce the buyer-seller program
The buyer-seller program will be offered for the first time. Visitors can fill out a form in advance and identify which product group or companies appeal to them as potential business partners. The trade fair organizer will use this information and arrange brief meetings during the trade fair days. The buyer-seller meetings will be held in a separate area of the fair hall. The service is provided free of charge to both groups and is aimed at international exhibitors.
‘At bauma Conexpo India 2018, we will be introducing two new models to the region: a new large-capacity wheel loader and an asphalt compactor. The two new machines will help Indian contractors meet the growing demand for high-performing, reliable equipment for infrastructure projects such as road building and earthmoving’, says Dimitrov Krishnan, vice president and head of Volvo CE India.
He further adds, ‘another highlight of the show from Volvo Construction Equipment (VolvoCE) will be the low-noise HB38 hydraulic breaker attachment, which is available for the EC380D excavator. Volvo hydraulic breakers provide consistent power, durability, and breaking force. Contractors in India can now choose from 10 of these state-of-the-art hydraulic breakers. With designs that feature the manufacturer’s trademark quality and reliability, the attachments can handle even the toughest breaking and trenching jobs in mining, quarrying, demolition and construction’.
‘Bauma Conexpo is one of the largest construction tradeshows in Asia. It’s always nice to meet with existing and new customers to share our latest technology and offerings during the show. We believe that this will be a good opportunity for us to showcase the lifetime value of Volvo Construction Equipment, not just the equipment itself, but also our experts and aftermarket service support. We will be introducing two new models to the region: a new large-capacity wheel loader and an asphalt compactor. The two new machines will help Indian contractors meet the growing demand for high-performing, reliable equipment for infrastructure projects such as road building and earthmoving’, he further adds.
‘Bauma CONEXPO is a noteworthy exhibition which takes place once in every two years in India.
It has garnered a lot of interest from the industry as we see many leading players showcasing their latest range during the four day event. JCB showcased and introduced a wide range of larger excavators among other products during the last edition of BCIndia in December 2016. This year too, JCB has planned an exciting line up of machines which will exhibit our commitment to innovation and technology. Our objective is to reinforce our position as a Full Range Infrastructure Equipment Partner by showcasing class leading product solutions which exhibit innovation in design, performance, efficiency and safety including Telematics’, says Mr. Jasmeet Singh, Head- Corporate Communications and Corporate Relations, JCB India Limited.
He further adds, ‘we will also showcase the entire range of our world class JCB products. The focus will also be on showcasing the integration of advanced digital technologies in our entire product range. Many first in the industry technologies in various world class products will be showcased. For instance, JCB India is the first manufacturer in the industry to offer an in-built Compaction Meter which ensures uniform compaction as the operator exactly knows where to stop and the number of passes that are required to achieve the desired density. This leads to a uniform compaction density and savings in Fuel as well as time. It helps in reducing the number of passes and also avoids over compaction. Also, in order to make compaction operation as efficient as possible, JCB India has come up with a new concept known as ‘Intelli-Compaction’ in JCB116, another Industry first from JCB India. It provides Relative Compaction value which helps in achieving consistent and uniform compaction throughout the patch. The digital display shows High/ low frequency and amplitude values for compaction control. This versatile system is suitable for both Asphalt and Soil Surface’.
Additionally, with the advent of digital technologies, users can now control their entire fleet in real time and all the critical machine information is available on their smart devices in the form of digital applications such as JCB Livelink app, JCB Smart Serve App and Smart Machine Diagnostics app. All these innovations are aimed at giving our customers a world class ownership experience with our machines and as we go ahead, we will continue to utilise these smart and revolutionary technologies to offer unmatched benefits to customers and end users, Mr. Jasmeet Singh states.
‘JCB utilises such platforms to connect with customers and showcase the entire range of class leading products and services. Moreover, it gives an opportunity to reiterate our commitment to the Indian market and plays an instrumental role in bringing the entire industry together’, he concluded.
