The project is estimated to span over an area of 425 hectares and will require an investment of Rs 15,002 crore.
The commerce ministry has been informed by the developer that it is in the process of acquiring the land through the state government and that the project is expected to generate 199 direct employment and 15,000 indirect jobs
Adani Power (Jharkhand) has already purchased pockets of land in the area, which, according to the company will be used to establish peripheral infrastructure such as roads and storage, facilitating speedy implementation of the project.
The application for the development of the power sector specific SEZ will be reviewed by the SEZs – Board of Approval, on February 5.
