The development authority said that the 18 flyovers will be constructed at a cost of Rs 1,191 crore. While Rs 531 crore will be spent on constructing the eight flyovers where work is ongoing, Rs 660 crore will be spent on the remaining ten flyovers.
Union home minister Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone of the Science City and Jundal flyovers later this week. While the ground work for the remaining flyovers will begin by the year-end. AUDA have sent a proposal of external funding from international agencies to the state government. The clearance is expected shortly and work on the ten flyovers on the SP Ring Road may begin in 2020.
AUDA has also planned projects worth Rs 289 crore for setting up new roads in developing areas. The agency has around Rs 1,400 crore in unspent funds and the state government has directed it to spend the money to provide public amenities.
