Ajmer district administration has handed over 441.7 acres of land for Kishangarh Airport to Airports Authority of India.The project is expected tobe operational by 2016. The facility will have 2,152-meter long runway aimed in providing air connectivity to Pushkar fair and Dargah of Sufi Saint Khwaja Moindudin Chisti. The expansion of runway will facilitate landing of airbus, AAI GM (Engineering), G D Gupta, said. The wok on runway is expected to begin by July 15.
Ajmer District Collector Vaibhav Galaria completed formalities regarding the transfer of the land with the AAI officials and the land’s possession was handed over to them. The work of the airport includes construction of terminal and runway and will be taken up in two phases. The cost for the first phase is fixed at Rs 160 crore, Sanganer(Jaipur) Airport Director Paul Manikkam said.
