The work for Mumbai-Ahmedabad is in full force. Recently, two 50-m training tracks for India’s first bullet train project were readied. The tracks slabs are made from high strength concrete with Japanese tech.
It is also proposed a new four-lane road to Kochi and one more road from Kanyakumari to Chennai via Tiruchendur, Thoothukudi, Rameswaram and Puducherry. It may be noted that the work for Mumbai-Ahmedabad is in full force. Recently, two 50-m training tracks for India’s first bullet train project were readied. The tracks slabs are made from high strength concrete using Japan’s Shinkansen (Japanese bullet train) technology.
It is worth mentioning that NHSRCL is implementing the high-speed bullet train project between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The total length of the proposed corridor is 508.17 km. The route of Mumbai Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail will be passing through two states, Maharashtra and Gujarat and one Union Territory, Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
Worth mentioning here is that the government is reportedly planning to add 10 more bullet trains in the railway network. Indian Railways has already prepared a mega expansion plan which includes 10 bullet train corridors with the total length of about 6,000 Km across India. The expansion plan also includes doubling the freight capacity in coming years.
Railways has already sent a proposal to the Cabinet seeking approval. The proposal asks permission to conduct a feasibility study. It also includes a detailed project report (DPR) for 10 possible bullet train corridors across India.
