Team SNAAPP, a group of students from the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad – have been crowned champions of Smart India Hackathon-2019. The team comprising of Siddharth Gupta, Nisha Akole, Ajay Hase, Aman Agarwal, Prabhat Kumar Rai and Prasad Gaikwad delivered an application that provides a solution to a problem on steel construction.
SNAAPP was tasked with the conundrum of developing a mobile application that can manage the hierarchical system of updating construction site progress and generate reports directly via the app to managers and higher authorities.
The app sends updates directly from the authorities who are working on the field – reducing the time gap in information-sharing between site engineers and managers. It would also help in optimizing the cost incurred compared to the expected cost, as well as assign tasks to site engineers and get feedback/alerts from them. The app will also help in maintaining the project time-line as it would show details on the project delay.
The team now intends to work with the Ministry of Human Resource Development for further extension of the project and produce it as a commercial product for construction industries.
