The emergency-stop control that covers all crushing and screening stages provides the required safety.
How helpful has Excon been in the estimation of potential customers?
We were not looking at Excon from a Business perspective but as an excellent platform to interact with our customers both existing as well as potential. This would also be a platform for us to showcase our latest technologies and innovations. Our customers had an excellent opportunity to interact with our Product Managers , Application specialists and to experience our new products introduced to the market all at our Outdoor Pavilion 14.
What is the potential of crushing and screening equipment, what is the market share of Wirtgen?
The Road segment is driving the demand currently and the market is moving from stationary / type mounted plants to track mounted plants. The market is now predominantly in the roads sector and there is very good demand for Crushing & Screening plants. The mining sector is slowly picking up. Wirtgen India has started manufacturing of Kleemann range of mobile screens at its Pune plant . These screens are also being exported to the global market.
Amidst, several governments declared projects, how much potential does Wirtgen find in the construction sector at present?
The last few years have been very good with respect to awards and constructions of Road Projects. We expect this trend to continue with construction of 19 kms/day and the government working towards 30 km/day. With the infrastructure development policies of this government , there is a good demand and growth for the CE industry. The current government has ambitious plans to develop the road sector. Now the plans are being executed well , and due to this there is an increase in demand for equipment. We being market leaders for Road building and Road rehabilitation, have benefitted from this demand and expect this growth to continue. The first half of 2017 was very good, however we had a slight drop in Sales, post GST for a couple of months. However we find that this is slowly picking up in last few months and we expect it to become normal by next year. Overall 2017 would still be an excellent year for Wirtgen India, and will be our best year so far.
