The target of achieving a standard infrastructure alignment is in full swing. In the objective of achieving infrastructural standardization, the government has recently declared several infrastructural projects across the country. NHAI, under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, has taken several provisions for completion of different projects especially the highway network. The construction sector is in pick-up-mode at the moment pertaining to these projects.

Amidst these initiations Masterbuilder had one to one chat with Jasmeet Singh, Head – Corporate Communications and External Relations, JCB India Ltd., wherein he shared insights on their Excon plan.

Here are the excerpts from the interview.

What products are being showcased at the Excon this year? How has the event changed over the years?

Excon is one of the biggest exhibitions for the Construction Equipment industry in South Asia. It is an ideal platform to exhibit products and services that have the potential to drive growth in the future. The exhibition also plays an instrumental role in bringing the entire industry together.

As always, JCB will present an exciting line up of machines at this year’s Excon with some innovative new additions in the existing range. Our objective is to reinforce our position as a Full Range Infrastructure Equipment Partner by showcasing class-leading product solutions which exhibit innovation in design, performance, efficiency and safety including Telematics.

We will showcase the entire range of our world-class JCB products starting from the compact range such as Mini Excavator, Skid Steer Loader to mid-range machines such as Backhoe Loaders, Telehandlers, Super Loaders to larger Excavators, Compactors and Wheel Loaders. All these products have been designed and engineered to cater to the changing needs and increasing demand across different segments.

JCB will also display its range of Consumer Products, Parts and Product Support options. Apart from this, our famous Dancing Diggers show will enthrall the crowd throughout the five-day event.

Visitors will get to experience world class technology in action at our stand in terms of Telematics and Internet of Things.

Discuss the range of high powered Gensets launched by JCB?

The Indian Diesel Generator market witnessed growth over the past few months, primarily due to the execution of projects in the Roads and Highways sector and other construction projects. Small and Medium Enterprises have also been driving the demand for Gensets.

At JCB, we are committed to addressing this growing requirement with our safe and sturdy range of Gensets. JCB generators are designed to meet customers’ requirements in terms of performance, serviceability, strength, safety, and space. We recently introduced two world class variants in India  the 125kVA and the 160kVA and they have been well received in the market. With these new additions, we offer an extensive range starting from 63 KVA to 160 KVA.  Our Diesel Gensets are known for offering the best in class technology and productivity with a special focus on features that help in reducing the carbon footprint.

Demand for Gensets is likely to increase in the coming years. Growth in infrastructure sector will be one of the key demand drivers for the sector coupled with the growing demand in the residential and commercial sector.

How important has servicing/ aftermarket become considering projects are happening across multiple areas across countries?

Product support plays a crucial role in the overall buying cycle of an Earthmoving and Construction Equipment. At JCB, we have set-up the largest product support network in the industry with 63 dealers and 650 outlets. These outlets are spread across India, employing over 6,000 trained professionals to cater to different customer requirements.

JCB also introduced an advanced telematics technology called Livelink which allows the user to remotely manage their machines.  Internet of Things (IOT) is going be the next game changer in the manufacturing industry and JCB has pioneered the integration IOT within its earthmoving and construction equipment range. Today, over 60,000 Livelink enabled machines are successfully working in India.

We innovated and introduced “Livelink” which is an advanced machine monitoring system that not only gives users the location of their equipment at all times, but also relays back all machine related information which can be accessed by customers, dealers and JCB.

The Livelink strives to deliver constructive, real-time information to increase profits and improve productivity. Both, the equipment owners and operators can access information such as fuel consumption, ideal time, machine location, fluid levels and service alerts on their mobile devices or laptops using the internet.

Our objective is to ensure that the machine is always healthy and gives the highest level of performance. The JCB Livelink system helps in informing users by SMS alerts, the location and condition of their JCB machines. Geo fencing and Time fencing features also give out SMS alerts whenever the machine moves out of the designated, pre-determined geographical areas. This feature also works when the machine is being operated beyond the time that the customer has preset.

Livelink has significantly helped in the better fleet management of JCB products for our customers. It has also resulted in our product support network being able to provide world-class support through preventive maintenance.

Additionally, JCB also introduced the Premier Lines Solutions for its range of products. This facility includes the options of having trained service engineers along with Parts stock on site.
