    Haryana pollution board issues notice to 150 construction sites in Gurgaon for enforcement of NGT dust control guideline

    Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has issued notice to around 150 construction sites in Gurgaon for enforcement of dust control guideline of National Green Tribunal (NGT). The construction activities has already been banned in Delhi-NCR on the direction of NGT to reduce pollution. Now, HSPCB has issued notices with advisory to abide by the dust control measures, when construction activities starts, or face the action. According to an estimate there are around 150 construction sites and 95 brick kilns in Gurgaon and where nearly 15,000 people work. These construction sites and brick kilns are considered as major source of pollution. HSPCB has recently taken action against 50 people for violation of dust norms and burning waste in open. NGT in its order on November 8 had banned all construction work in Delhi and NCR for the next 7 days to bring the smog situation under control. The NGT also asked Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Delhi to come up with an action plan. Tribunal have also asked states to present details of preventive, precautionary and curative measure taken by them. Besides, there is ban on construction activities and operation of stone crushers and brick kilns for a week. Earlier in January Huda following NGT order has issued guidelines to check pollution caused by construction sites.
