On Tuesday, Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Area Planning Authority (BMICAPA) issued a public notice that two unauthorised layouts in Kodigehalli and Thirumalapura villages in Yeshwantpur hobli, under its jurisdiction, lack its approval.
Authorities say illegal layouts are coming up in violation of rules and the worst affected will be gullible site buyers.
There are 700 villages under BMICAPA. “Certain steps have to be followed in forming layouts in BMICAPA area. First, as per section 14 (A) of Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act 1961, change of land use has to be approved by BMICAPA.Further, the landowner has to apply for land conversion at the deputy commissioner’s office. Then he/she an apply to BMICAPA for layout plan approval, and we give technical approval. Only after this, the local gram panchayat can give administrational approval for layout formation.
In many cases, landlords have taken change-of-land-use approval from us and gone ahead to seek layout formation approval from the gram panchayat, violating rules,” said authorities at BMICAPA.
