Engineering conglomerate, Larsen & Toubro said its Building & Factories Business segment has won orders worth Rs 2,490 crore from the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA).
” The Buildings and Factories Business of L&T Construction has bagged a major design and build order worth Rs 2,903 crore to re-develop Mumbai’s century old BDD chawls for Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA)”, the company stated in a regulatory filing.
The job order also covers onsite and offsite infrastructure, landscapping, demolition of existing structures and logistics involved in the rehabilitation of the current occupants, among others.
The mega order will also take into consideration the construction of hospital building, a medical institute, a nursing college, a school for paramedics, an auditorium, hostels, residential quarters along with associated works, the company said in a statement.
L&T said that another “design & built contract” has been bagged from a major client for the construction of a residential project at Bengaluru. The scope of this project includes construction of shell and core works. The business has also received additional orders from ongoing projects. The stock was trading at 1,554.50 up by 0.50 at BSE.
