    L&T’s new service centre in Singrauli aims to enhance mining activities

    L&T Construction & Mining Machinery’s new state-of-the-art service centre in Singrauli aims to enhance the company’s value added services by providing an easy to access care-centre for the machines employed in the region.

    Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has set up a new service centre at the Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam industrial area at Waidhan, M.P., around 30 km from Singrauli and around 210 km from Varanasi. L&T’s new service centre, with its strategic location,  aims to reduce the lead time for reparability and help in stepping up the equipment availability which is so crucial in the production cycle of the mines. It will provide easier access to repair and maintenance for the 1000 number strong fleet of L&T/Komatsu/Scania equipment engaged in mining activities in the region.

    The state-of-the-art facility is spread over a total area of 10,080 sqm. and is equipped with overhead cranes, dust-free cooling system, special fixtures and tools for carrying out repairs of major machines and components. The facility will cater to service and repair works for Off-highway Dump Trucks, Crawler Dozers, Hydraulic Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Motor Graders and Tipper Trucks.

    The inauguration of the facility was carried out in the presence of Mr. Arvind K. Garg, Executive Vice-President & Head, Construction & Mining Machinery Business, L&T; Mr. Gunadhar Pandey,

Sastry, Director (Finance), Northern Coalfields Limited; Mr. Russell Conley, Chief Project Director-Sasan, Reliance Power; Mr. Masaaki Kamizono, Managing Director, Komatsu India Private Limited; Mr. Jimmy Renstrom, Chief Financial Officer, Scania Commercial Vehicles India Private Limited and Mr. V. Prabhakar Reddy, Hon’ble Member of Parliament.

    At the function, Mr. Garg said, “the centre with state-of-the-art facilities would fulfil a long-felt need for a repair facility in the coal-belt area. He said L&T was committed to providing lifecycle support to the mining equipment deployed in the area and this move was to reinforce that commitment. L&T is prepared to deliver top class field support at customer doorsteps and ensure high availability of the high-cost machines at all times.”
