Hyderabad-based, Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd. (MEIL), has completed four major projects with a total outlay of Rs. 3100 crore during the first quarter of 2016. These projects include the Rs 515 crore Sauni Yojana Project (SYP-1) located in Gujarat that was launched by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The project was completed before its stipulated time. The Sauni Yojana Project will irrigate 20000 acres of farmlands in the districts of Rajkot, Jamnagar and Morbi districts of Gujarat. The lifted water will be sent to the farmlands by storing water in 10 dams built across the canal. The company has completed a drinking water project in Tanzania in collaboration with the Tanzanian government in 18 months. The project involved the construction of Upper Ruvu-Kimara Water Transmission and Kidamba Reservoir in Tanzania, Africa. The company was also involved in the major lift irrigation project, Pattiseema in Andhra Pradesh, a river linking project connecting Godavari and Krishna Rivers in the state. The infrastructure firm has also constructed a Rs 548 crore water grid project, Gajwel water grid in Telangana Under Mission Bhageeratha. The project will provide drinking water to 67,000 households. The company also has the responsibility of maintaining the project for ten years.
