Managing Director of CIDCO a city planning organization, said that the planning body has agreed to be a ‘facilitator’ for the Naina infra development project. Bhushan Gagrani, MD clearing the doubts raised by the audience at the seminar organized by Navi Mumbai Press Club at CIDCO Exhibition center on prospects of Navi Mumbai Airport and Naina projects also added that the planning body will also see the practicability of the said project.
The project has been delayed by four years and land acquisitions are yet to be completed. The MD shed light on the proposed project which was conceptualized by CIDCO four years ago had got approval by the state a few month back on infra development plan. He also added, “Hence, it is not fair to blame CIDCOo for the delay in implementing the project”.
CIDCO, Joint MD Prajakta Verma said that land pooling and acquisition are intertwined and so infrastructure development would be sporadic.
For Naina projects the villagers need to formed into groups and to collectively submit their land which falls under the project to the Planning body, Gagrani elaborated. He further added that they will go forth in acquisition of land if land pooling concept fails. It will also lead to time constraints as PAPs (Project Affected Persons) will have to be convinced and will also escalates the project cost.
