Construction of the new domestic terminal building at Patnais all set to begin from next month. The proposal which includes other allied structures was approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA). The cost of the project is estimated at Rs 1,217 crore.
The new terminal building is expected to raise passenger handling capabilities from 0.7 million passengers per annum to 4.5 mmpa, an official release said.
According to it, “The new terminal building shall have an area of 65,155 square metres, including basement area of 18,650 sqm and shall be equipped with world-class passenger facilities. With the construction … there will be an increase in economic activities in Patna region, which will create additional jobs.”
The project is part of the package released by PM Modi for the Bihar region.
