    PM to Launch Setu bharatam Project

    RoadPrime Minister Narendra Modi will launch ‘Setu bharatam’ project which aims to make all national highways railway crossing free by the year 2019 at a function on 4th March, 2016 in New Delhi. Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari told news persons that under the project 208 places have been identified for construction of rail over-bridges or underpasses. He said that an expenditure of Rs. 10,200 crore is expected to be incurred on the project.

    Mr. Gadkari also said that in addition to the above, 1500 new bridges are also proposed to be constructed to replace the old bridges. He also outlined the roadmap for the Ministries of Road Transport & Highways and Shipping in the coming years and said the Budget 2016-17 provisions will go a long way in giving a boost to these sectors.
