CASE backhoes are re-engineered from the ground up to deliver industry-leading backhoe breakout force, greater loader lift capacity/reach and best-in-class cab visibility. The new EX Series Backhoe Loader have robust robotically welded two-piece structural frame design results in great stability, performance and serviceability.
Masterbuilder had one-on-one chat with Mr. Ajay Aneja, Brand Leader, CASE India, wherein he shared insights on Emission standard, Fuel Consumption and Infrastructure Development strategies forsaken by CASE.
Here are the excerpts of the interview.
Discuss the engine technology, especially with the emissions standards of CASE backhoes?
The implementation of new emission norms by 2020 is expected to impact the BHL market. The OEMs are expected to bring corrective measures so as to successfully tide over the challenges on many fronts.
The BS IV emission norm will require the industry to start production of loader backhoes with BS IV certified engines. The major benefit of BS IV norms is going to be reduction in pollution. The production of machines with BS IV Engines will start from Q4 of 2020 and the machines will be available in market from beginning of Q2 of 2021. Implementation of BS IV norm will make sure that the machines are fitted with electronic engines and other critical components like ECU, SCR, Sensors, and electronic throttles etc. are in place. CASE India is already offering BS IV engines in our units produced in international market. We are already in development phase of BS IV engine suitable for Indian markets.
CASE India has 770EX PRO, CASE 770EX-Magnum PRO and 851EX PRO in its loader backhoe segment. The CASE PRO Series Loader Backhoe powered by FPT Industrial S8000 engine delivers powerful performance and fast response time along with 8 per cent higher productivity and fuel savings of up to 10 per cent. The series is re-structured from the ground-up to deliver industry-leading backhoe breakout force, higher loader lift capacity/reach and best-in-class cab visibility.
How much are fuel consumption effective CASE machines?
CASE takes pride in deploying machines such as compactors which are known for their excellent fuel efficiency, unmatched reliability, high centrifugal forces, and all round visibility.
CASE 845 B and CASE 865 B graders are also equipped with 6.7-liter FPT engine with dual horsepower and triple horsepower respectively to match the power requirements of various applications and deliver optimum fuel efficiency. The Graders are offered with an Automatic ZF Transmission. The machines have a multi Curvature Moldboard which reduces the resistance coming on the Engine and hence reduces the fuel consumption.
Customized for the Indian market, the CASE 770EX OL is powered by a 3.9-liter 4-cylinder FPT Industrial S8000 engine with a mechanical injection system. This delivers powerful performance and fast responses coupled with 8% higher productivity and fuel savings of up to 10% versus comparable products in the market.
In regard to urban infrastructural development how has been the demand for the company machines?
This year we saw 11% growth in the loader backhoe segment, 16% in Compactor’s segment and 20% growth in motor graders segment. We expect significant growth and are positive in terms of increase in volume for the next year. Ready with our construction equipment products and considering the set of conditions prevailing in the country and other foreseeable factors at this moment, we expect the market will follow an upward trend in the coming years as well. Construction Equipment industry has witnessed a strong growth because lot of projects are being undertaken. Prestigious projects like Sagarmala, Bharatmala, National Highway Projects and Rural road flagship schemes have called for equipment in construction industry.
