Shristi Infrastructure Development Corp (SIDCL) is planning to inaugurate a Rs.600 crore hotel project near here in early 2014, the company said. Kolkata-based SIDCL has tied up with global hospitality major Westin Hotels and Resorts for a 15-year management contract for the 323-room hotel at Rajarhat. It will be under the Westin brand. “We need another year and two months for completion of the project,” SIDCL managing director Sujit Kanoria said. Shristi is also developing another star-category hotel in Udaipur in Rajasthan. The West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO), has planned a new township ‘Rajarhat’ as a hub for business, trade, industries, institutions and culture. Though it is planned as a self-contained nodal growth centre, it will be integrated with the future spatial/functional structure of the metropolis.

The site is well suited for the proposed development due to its location in one of the largest and well planned infrastructural development areas in the city, proximity to airport, the IT/ITES sector hub being created in this area and several non IT commercial development, he said. It will be the tallest structure in the region with height up to 150 m. The construction will be a blend of the colonial and the contemporary style of architectural design. It will be a novel ‘Bionic’ concept based building and completely eco-friendly with US based highest ‘LEED certification’. It will be an ultimate signature landmark with ultra-modern amenities housing five star hotel, business hotel and spa, shopping mall, universal city walk, entertainment facilities, high-tech commercial complex, healthcare and club, penthouses and serviced apartments, Sujit Kanoria said. The total area is about 8 acres and the built area will be 8,80,000 Sq ft. Cervera & Pioz, Spain, Ruben Anderegg, Switzerland and CPK Associates, India will be the architects for the project.
