    Six minor ports to be developed under PPP model in Karnataka

    ports in KarnatakaPrivate entrepreneurs have come forward to develop six of the 12 minor ports in the state under the Karnataka State Port Development Policy (KSPD) 2014, which is aimed at developing minor ports at strategic locations and to provide efficient port facilities and services for attracting export oriented industries and port-based industries to the state. Minister for Ports Baburao Chinchansur said Honnavar, Manki, Mavinakurve, Belekeri, Tadadi and Malpe ports in Uttara and Dakshina Kannada districts will be developed under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model under the KSPD Policy. While the government will provide land, private entrepreneurs will develop minor ports and play a role in boosting the economy.
