    UPTCL to set up new sub-stations and transmission lines at a cost of Rs 700

    The UP Transmission Corporation Limited (UPTCL) has proposed to set up new sub-stations and transmission lines at a cost of over Rs 700 crore, a senior official said. The organisation has planned to construct new substations of 132 KV and 220 KV and lay new transmission lines besides upgrading existing sub-stations.The project has been approved by a sub-committee of the state finance department and will be put before energy task force (ETF) headed by the chief secretary.

    The substations are planned for construction at Azamgarh, Agra and parts of Bundelkhand. The 132 KV will be constructed at Mubarakpur, Sikandra and Orai besides laying a massive network of transmission lines.
